Go Daddy Profile

Go Daddy is the main company in the GoDaddy Inc Group, a privately-owned American company. It was founded in 1997 by entrepreneur Bob Parsons, a former US Marine. Parsons remains very much a dominant force within the company, and is the current Chief Executive Officer.

Company and Services
As with many hosting companies, GoDaddy started as a domain name registrar. And, with one of its 6 million customers registering one domain a second with it, GoDaddy may well be the largest registrar of domains in the world.

GoDaddy offers some 45 web-based products and services. This means it is able to provide everything that an individual or company could want to create a website or e-business. Since 1997, the company has experienced tremendous growth and is one of the industry’s most profitable companies.

Through its combination of low-cost, reliable, feature-rich hosting products and good customer service GoDaddy has amassed a massive customer-base (around 32 million domains are managed by the GoDaddy Group). It offers shared, virtual (VPS), dedicated and reseller hosting plans, all of which are loaded with features and add-ons.

GoDaddy has recently started to offer grid hosting for customers prone to sudden peaks of traffic. All of GoDaddy’s plans come with 99.9% guaranteed uptime and access to its top of the range technology and infrastructure. It claims its customer support (available 24/7 by email, phone and live online chat) is the best in the industry.

GoDaddy’s head office is in Scottsdale, Arizona. It has an additional three offices in and around Phoenix. GoDaddy employs more than 2,000 staff.

The company is also known for its advertising campaigns. These have run advertising at some very high profile events including the NFL Super Bowl. It is also a sponsor of a NASCAR racing car.

According to Netcraft, GoDaddy is the world’s largest host-name provider. The company is a top ten entry in INC Magazines Top 500 List of Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America. On a local level, 2007 saw GoDaddy recognized as the Most Innovative Company at the Arizona Corporate Excellence Awards. That same year its CEO and founder, Bob Parsons, received the Arizona Business Leadership Award.

As a person how uses Godaddy as their web host and a person who resells godaddy products I believe Godaddy has the best value for your dollar. The products are world class along with their 24/7 service. From someone who has never had a hosting company or website before to the multi million dollar business owner you will find the most reliable and easy to set up web hosting that money can buy.

I’ve tried several different hosting providers for my site, however Go Daddy seems to be the best option (for me) for inexpensive hosting providers.

The one issue I have with the service however is the ridiculously large amount of “sales pitches” you have to go through to buy the service and/or domain name. Yeah, they provide you with links to skip them, but they’re hard to find.

But, besides these overbearing sales techniques, if you’re looking for a reliable and inexpensive hosting provider, give them a shot.
