Jumpline.com was founded in 1997 by Marc Hardgrove, Rob Kaufman and Rick Barber. It provides web-hosting solutions to both business and personal websites.

Jumpline is a privately owned company that has built up a solid customer base over the last ten years. It now provides hosting solutions to over 65,000 customers and these are made up of both business and personal users.
The company aims to provide a wide variety of services in order to accommodate users’ varying needs, including over 40 web applications.
Jumpline believes that one of the reasons for its success is the quality of its technical infrastructure. This includes VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) technology, which offers a greater level of security and flexibility for users’ websites as each is, in effect, run independently of all the others on the machine.
As opposed to ‘shared hosting’, a VDS means that users have autonomy and the added benefit of being able to add extra applications. As well as VDS, Jumpline offers other web hosting packages such as VPS (Virtual Private Server) and shared web hosting for a basic website presence. The Jumpline infrastructure is backed by Dell Servers and Cisco Networking Equipment and it has partnerships with Sphera Corporation and Cogent Communications.
All of the hosting systems are backed up daily by Tivoli Storage Manager, which customers can quickly access if there is any problem with their website. Further back-ups are performed on a weekly and quarterly basis.
Jumpline has developed a steady increase of customers based on a reputation for reliability. The workforce is small but customer-focused and the company offers 24/7 support.
Server Location
The Jumpline data center is located in Columbus, Ohio, as is the company head office. It is one of only a handful of Qwest Cyber Centers.
