What is TraceWatch Hosting?
Webmasters who want free, detailed Web statistics without relying on a JavaScript traffic counter will find TraceWatch to be a valuable tool.
TraceWatch is a free Web stats program created by Arash Dejkam. It includes in-depth traffic stats in real time. You can instantly see where your users came from, which browser they’re using, and from which country they’re browsing. While many popular traffic analytic interfaces get their data from JavaScript codes embedded in your site, TraceWatch doesn’t. Instead, it relies on PHP Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP).
Some users don’t have JavaScript enabled while browsing the Web, so their page visits won’t be counted in other Web stats. TraceWatch tracks every server request for each of your pages. In this way, it is collects more reliable data than many of its JavaScript-based counterparts.
TraceWatch has a Web-based user interface (UI), so it can be accessed anywhere. The UI is easy to read and customizable. Multiple languages are supported as well. You’ll have a wealth of information at your fingertips in your dashboard, including general visitor information referrers, countries, hit stats by page, robots, and browser types. You may also include custom data sections.
Other features of TraceWatch include optimized database queries, full control of database size, error log, multiple websites, separate or merged stats for multiple sites, viewing folders as different sites, exact visitor paths, time on page, client and proxy Internet protocol (IP) addresses and domains, searching for specific visitors or IP addresses, comparing paths, finding entry and exit pages, and visualizations of all data.
Typically, hosting plans are not marketed specifically to host TraceWatch, but you will see it listed as a pre-installed featured with some plans. MySQL (for database management) and (PHP) are the minimum requirements for TraceWatch. If your hosting plan supports both, you should be able to install and run TraceWatch. However, contact your hosting provider to ensure compatibility prior to adding this or any other application to your Web server.
