ColoAZ Introduction
Based in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, ColoAZ specializes in colocation and dedicated server hosting. Their colocation services are offered in partnership with PhoenixNAP and hosted within the PhoenixNAP facility.
Services and Specializations
ColoAZ offers single server, quarter cabinet and full cabinet packages. Each packages offers 20A – 120V power and at least a 100Mbps network drop. Packages range in terms of server space, monthly bandwidth, and IP address space. The datacenter offers plenty of available space, allowing for easy expansion in the event your company’s colocation requirements ever increase.
For companies that prefer to rent their hardware, ColoAZ also offers three levels of dedicated servers. All dedicated servers feature 100Mbps port speeds, 5TB monthly bandwidth, and 5 usable IP addresses. Package vary based on CPU speed, RAM, and storage space.
Infrastructure
ColoAZ provides colocation services within the PhoenixNAP datacenter. The datacenter features 17 hardline providers that each provide no less than 96 fiber strands, 6 bandwidth providers, redundant power, a fire suppression system, redundant HVAC, secondary backup system, and a geographic location where weather and natural disasters are almost never a concern.
In addition to the standard six bandwidth providers, the datacenter can provide access to dozens more as required.
Security and Backups
The PhoenixNAP datacenter features an on-site security team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They utilize multi-factor authentication, including biometrics, multi-tier security zones, motion detection cameras, and high perimeter walls to secure zones. They also employ a full-time staff of data security specialists.
Colocation clients are permitted access to the facility; however, access is limited to their own servers and equipment.
Uptime Guarantee
ColoAZ offers 100% uptime guarantees.
Billing and Payment Policies
Payment is required at the time the colocation environment is set up and ready to use. After initial payment, services are billed 30 days in advance. All plans are auto-renewed, unless written notice is given 30-days before the end of term. When cancelling a dedicated hosting package, ColoAZ can provide a copy of all customer data for an additional cost.
Accounts more than 30 days overdue may be charged a late fee of 1.5% per month. As is standard operation for colocation providers, in the event that payment is not received, ColoAZ reserves the right discontinue support, cut power to the server, and/or deny access to a client’s equipment until all bills are paid in full.
Conclusion
ColoAZ provides a range of colocation services to fit your needs and budget, and their datacenter provides all of the expected services along with round-the-clock physical and data security systems. What’s more, the Phoenix location offers a level of protection against natural disaster and weather-related outages that most datacenters simply cannot promise.
In terms of dedicated servers, they offer far fewer hardware or software options than many dedicated hosting providers; however, the dedicated option is a good alternative for companies looking to take advantage of the datacenter’s capabilities but not interested in purchasing their own equipment.
