HostLeet Introduction

HostLeet.com is a Florida-based web hosting company established in 2008 and specializing in fast, reliable, secure entry-level hosting plans. HostLeet plans are powered by LiteSpeed, a faster, commercial alternative to Apache web hosting, and run on CloudLinux OS.

Services and Specializations

HostLeet offers four levels of shared hosting. All plans include cPanel control panel, Softaculous script installer, free backups, a PCI-Compliant checkout system, free domain name registration and renewal, FTP access, MySQL, SSL secured control panel and webmail, hotlink protection, Spam Assassin, and an anti-virus scanner.

Plans vary based on storage space, monthly bandwidth allotment, the number of domains and sub-domains you can host, custom email limits, and the number of databases that can be installed. Free off-site backup is also provided with their business level and above plans, and their premium plan includes a dedicated IP address.

Additional domain registrations and SSL certifications are also available for an added fee.

Support and Customer Service

All HostLeet accounts have access to technical support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, via an online ticketing system. Support is only available for hardware issues, server maintenance, security problems, or issues with common services such as e-mail, FTP, and cPanel. Clients are responsible for handling their own backups, script installation and management, configurations, and site content.

Backups

HostLeet maintains regular backups for use in the event of a disaster; however, these are not guaranteed and not available for restoring lost files or data outside of a disaster situation. Clients are responsible for managing their own backups, which can be automated using the tools provided in the control panel.

HostLeet provides recommended off-peak times for running full cPanel backups, as well as list of when they run daily backups on each of their servers, so clients can appropriately schedule their own backups for times least likely to impact server performance.

Uptime Guarantee

HostLeet offers a 99.9% uptime guarantee. Clients experiencing greater downtime may be eligible for a one-month credit. Requests for credit must be submitted via a support ticket and must be approved by HostLeet.

Billing and Payment Policies

HostLeet accepts all major credit cards and PayPal, and payments are automatically deducted. In the event of non-payment, HostLeet allows a 10-day grace period from the due date. After 10 days, accounts are suspended until the balance is paid in full, along with a $10 re-activation fee.

Cancellations must be submitted through the HostLeet Client Area at least 7 days before your next renewal date.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for LiteSpeed-powered web hosting with generous storage capacities, HostLeet may be exactly the host you’re looking for. Their prices are reasonable for the features they provide, particularly for their business-class plans, and the inclusion of a PCI-Compliant checkout system makes them an ideal option for small-to-medium sized online stores.

The one drawback to HostLeet is the lack of any dedicated server options. If you’re company requires a higher level of security or a greater control over your server, you should look for a host that specialized in VPS or dedicated servers.
