Royalty Networks Introduction

Royalty Networks is a Canadian web hosting provider. Established in 2005, they specialize in affordable, clustered web hosting solutions and on-demand virtual private servers.

Services and Specializations

Royalty Networks offers shared cluster hosting, in which your server is hosted on multiple dedicated nodes. This setup is designed to provide faster response and a higher level of availability.

CloudLinux hosting plans include unlimited email addresses, unlimited databases, RAID 10 storage, SiteStudio website builder, instant setup and a free domain name. Plans vary based on storage, bandwidth, and the number of sites you can host. Their premium plans also include a dedicated IP address and SSL Certification.

Windows cloud hosted plans are also available with similar options to the Linux hosting plans, but without unlimited databases.

Royalty Networks also offers on-demand Linux and Windows VPS hosting, available in over 50 pre-configured templates. Virtual severs are hosted on Intel quad core servers with RAID 10 Arrays, and are powered by Xen. All VPS plans include guaranteed resources, one dedicated IP address, SSH, remote desktop access, remote reboot, and free OS reinstalls. Plans are available with a variety of CPU cores, RAM, storage, and bandwidth. Several Linux and Windows Server operating systems are available.

Infrastructure

Royalty Networks maintains its own datacenter in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The datacenter features UPS power with generator backups, enterprise-grade air conditioning, and security protocols that include biometric scanners, access cards and camera monitoring.

All of their servers are built with Intel-based machines, RAID 10 hot-swappable drives, and dual-redundant power supplies. Internet connectivity is maintained with Cisco routers and switches and multiple bandwidth providers.

Support and Customer Service

Royalty Networks offers customer support 24 hours a day through their customer support portal.

Security and Backups

Royalty Networks backs up all files, email, and databases on its shard servers once a day, and maintain those in an offsite NAS for 30 days. For VPS plans, they create a weekly system image backup, which replaces the previous week’s backup. Unlike most hosts that only maintain backups for their own restoration purposes, Royalty Networks will perform free restores for any type of server upon request.

They also maintain regular maintenance, proactive monitoring, and security audits of their servers to detect and prevent technical issues.

Uptime Guarantee

Royalty Networks offers a 99.9% uptime guarantee.

Billing and Payment Policies

Royalty Networks accepts payment via PayPal and major credit cards.

All new hosting services come with a 30-day money-back guarantee, excluding the cost of domain registration.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a highly responsive, shared hosting solution, based in North America, Royalty Networks offers several affordable options. Their clustered network approach provides more reliable access and faster load times, while their plans provide a generous amount of storage and bandwidth. Particularly notable is that even their entry-level plan can host multiple domains, making it a highly attractive options for anyone looking to maintain more than one website.

Their VPS solutions, likewise, are highly affordable. And with over 50 pre-configured servers, you can be up and running with a brand new virtual server in minutes.
