Webserwer.pl Introduction
Webserwer.pl is a hosting company based in Poland that offers hosting products to meet the needs of individuals and small and medium businesses.
To understand the history of Webserwer.pl we have to start in 1999 with the formation of Deltanet Web Services. A year later, Deltanet launched and simultaneously renamed itself Holga.pl. Holga, an internet portal, would go on to become the most successful directory of Polish websites. In addition, Holga offered free email accounts and free basic PHP hosting.
Shortly after the launch of Holga, the team of developers and managers who had launched Holga were tasked with creating a portfolio of additional web services. The result was Webserwer.
In 2006, Holga merged with Wasko, a leading Polish IT company. However, Webserwer.pl proved to be a poor fit within the resulting company and was spun off and sold to Lingua-IT in 2010.
Since 2010, Webserwer.pl has invested heavily in hosting infrastructure, including colocating their server farm in the best-equipped datacenter in Poland.
Services and Specializations
The primary product offered by Webserwer is shared hosting. Both Linux and Windows shared hosting accounts are available. A range of account sizes are offered and vary based on the storage capacity, number of databases, FTP accounts, email accounts, domains, and the maximum server resource consumption allocated to the account.
All shared hosting accounts include unlimited bandwidth, support for mailing list software, and an option to host a website using a free subdomain of Webserwer.pl.
Customers who need increased server performance can opt for one of three virtual private server (VPS) configurations. The configurations vary based on the storage allocated to the account, RAM and CPU processor installed in the server, and processing power guaranteed available to the account.
VPS customers can select between Debian and CentOS Linux distributions, or if a Windows OS is preferred, either the 2003 or 2008 version can be installed. All VPS accounts include 1 dedicated IP address, unlimited bandwidth, private DNS servers, and administrator access.
Additional products and services offered by Webserwer.pl include:
Infrastructure
Webserwer’s hosting infrastructure is colocated at COIG’s datacenter in Katowice, Poland. This Tier III facility is secured with closed-circuit video, alarm systems, security personnel, and controlled access.
Webserwer uses Dell PowerEdge and HP ProLiant servers with EqualLogic and Fujitsu storage arrays. Minimum server specs include a dual-core Xeon processor, 8 GB of RAM, a 1 TB HDD hard drive with a separate SSD system disk.
Average annual uptime is 99.7%, which correlates to around 2 hours of downtime each month on average. Complete snapshot backups are made automatically on a daily basis, stored for seven days, and freely available in the event that a customer wish to rollback their space on the server.
Support and Customer Service
A knowledgebase is available, and Webserwer.pl customers can reach support staff 20 hours per day, 7 days per week, using either phone or email.
Billing and Payment Policies
All shared hosting accounts start with a 14-day free trial period. During this time, customers may cancel at any time with no financial obligation other than domain registration and any other non-refundable fees. All accounts are available with month, semi-annual, and annual billing cycles.
Summary
Webserwer.pl offers shared hosting and VPS accounts to meet the needs of individuals and small and medium businesses. While focused on the Polish hosting market, products and services are available to customers located anywhere in the world.
If you are looking for a hosting provider for a low or medium traffic website, and prefer a well-established provider based in Poland, Webserwer.pl should be near or at the top of your list.
