Web Hosting Hub FAQ
Here are answers to common queries that we receive about Web Hosting Hub.
Which hosting plan should I choose?
Web Hosting Hub has three different levels of shared hosting. The first level is a good starter plan that allows you to manage up to two websites.
The other two plans allow unlimited websites, so you’ll need one of those if you’re planning on hosting more than two sites.
The top-level plan comes with more allocated resources, so you’ll want that one if your website is more resource-intensive or gets a lot of traffic. If you’re not sure, you can always start with a lower plan and upgrade later on if you’d like.
Can I choose month-to-month billing?
No, there is a minimum 12-month initial billing period. Web Hosting Hub doesn’t offer a monthly billing cycle.
What other billing cycles do they offer?
When you open your account, you can choose to pay for 12, 24, or 36 months up front. Your account will be automatically renewed for the same period.
Is domain registration free?
Yes, Web Hosting Hub offers free domain registration (or domain transfer) for your first year. After the first year, you’ll have to pay an annual fee.
What types of payment do they accept?
Web Hosting Hub accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express credit card payments.
Can I use PayPal to purchase a hosting plan?
No, they don’t accept payment via PayPal.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes, Web Hosting Hub has a 90-day money-back guarantee, which is a bit unusual: most hosts offer a 30-day or sometimes 60-day guarantee.
The money-back guarantee only covers hosting fees; fees for SSL certificates, domain privacy, and domain names are nonrefundable.
You must submit a cancellation request using their electronic cancellation form before the initial 90 days are up in order to receive your refund.
Will my price go up when my hosting plan renews?
Yes, the discount applies to the initial invoice only. After that, your hosting plan fee will go up to the standard rate. You can get a bigger discount by paying for a longer term up front, up to 36 months.
What is domain privacy?
Whenever you register a domain, your name and personal contact information is displayed in a public database for anyone and everyone to look up.
When you purchase domain privacy, the domain registrar’s name is displayed instead, and your name, address, phone number, and email address are kept private.
Web Hosting Hub provides domain privacy for an additional yearly fee.
What is Web Hosting Hub’s Automated Secure Backups service?
For an additional monthly fee, Web Hosting Hub will perform daily automatic backups of your website data (up to a certain size; be sure to double-check with them if your website uses a lot of storage space).
Once every four months, you can perform an account restoration from your backup. Web Hosting Hub also encourages all their customers to keep their own backups, in addition to their backup service.
Should I purchase the McAfee Virus and Anti-Spam Protection?
Web Hosting Hub’s McAfee Virus and Anti-Spam Protection service protects your email from viruses and spam. If you plan on using your plan’s provided email service from your cPanel dashboard, you might consider investing in this monthly plan to be on the safe side.
However, if you’re using another email service that has spam protection, or if you have other anti-spam software, the McAfee Virus and Anti-Spam Protection service may be unnecessary.
