Lunarpages began in 2000 as an offshoot of the Add2Net Inc group of companies, which provides web-based business solutions under several different brands. The company was founded, and continues to be managed, by Ron Riddle.

Lunarpages claims to be one of the world’s leading web host providers with more than 150,000 customers worldwide. Its headquarters are outside Los Angles at La Habra, California, though it plans to move its headquarters to Anaheim, California in the near future. Lunarpages also runs a call center in La Habra, California and has several satellite technicians dotted around the US. The company currently has more than 100 members of staff. Its revenue for 2007 came to $16.4 million.
A few years ago Lunarpages decided to branch out from simple shared hosting into the dedicated server, reseller and most recently, VPS hosting markets. It has also made a move to include hosting on the Windows platform, along with the UNIX platform.
Lunarpages has a range of web hosting packages, including some that support e-commerce and multi-media as well as those geared towards information/educational sites. They have basic hosting for those new to webhosting with simple needs. Also they have dedicated servers for the experienced webmaster with more specific requirements, and several mixed hosting options for those in-between. In terms of capacity, Lunarpages are generous with their data transfers and storage, and offer unlimited email accounts and free interactive features such as chat, blogs and forums. Dedicated support is available by either phone or email 24/7 for everything from technical queries and troubleshooting to billing inquiries.
The customer forum for Lunarpages (Lunarforums.com) has been going since 2000 and provides help and advice on web hosting issues from both staff and fellow customers.
In 2003 Lunarpages started an education program to provide all US state primary schools with free hosting accounts.
The company has won several awards including Best Customer Support from 10 Webhosting.com, Best Dedicated Host by Host Critique.com and has been recommended by Web Host Magazine. Lunarpages Web Hosting has also made INC Magazine’s Top 5000 List of the Fastest Growing Private Companies in the US, (ranked 2,472).

Lunarpages has four data centers: three in California (Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego) and one in Las Vegas, Nevada.
